Editorial Success

Much to my luck, I had a great team beneath it all; I ran that magazine like a champ. Our first issue went off like a bang, ushering in the controversy of George W. Bush in the presidency, and getting slammed with an student out-cry that the metal shop was closing; it being the purpose some students enrolled at the Institute (I spent half the first issue monitoring student advocacy and sort of heading a campaign to keep it open; we won!). None-the-less our office was flooded with Art submissions, and we crammed them all in, with little room to spare which was a subject of discussion. After a while we changed our design motto for the art to have ‘breathing room’ to give way to it’s contemplation, thus being able to over look anything that doesn’t make Art autonomous the way an art gallery did (before conceptualism that is). Which actually made the first issue sort of genius… for a conceptualism forefront of modern society.
