STATEMENT

These hand crafted little paintings are created with an act of expertise that sings true to the luxury of high art. Each painting was painted with a single hair brush hand made by the artist. The prestige in the 5 layers of gesso professionally sanded and primed, and the handcrafted miniature frame turned into a piece of jewelry hold the juxtaposition of commodity and fine art. To match the preciousness of the small size each piece has an image tropical in nature, reminiscent of holidays and memories cherished in something you can hold, look at, and wear. Now you can take the lavishness of high art with you in style and merchandise.

Artist Bio

Julianne Chladny is an artist, author, and entrepreneur based in Vancouver, Canada.  She holds a BFA from the Emily Carr University of Art and Design, a diploma from the Victoria School of Visual and Performing Arts, and continuing education from Harvard University, HCC College, Metro Community College, and The Red Cross.  Her ongoing art practice involves ideas around perspective; both how the work can be perceived and how acts of representation can be challenged through line work and sculpture, marking eye movement and drawing contemplation into abstraction works of art. Julianne loves to draw, paint, and craft things, she also tattoos and has been involved in street art for over 10 years. Her passion of caring for her child and family has inspired numerous projects including the book Lunch Notes and various illustrations.  Julianne has shown art all over the city and stays dedicated to creating work rooted in love and wisdom.
